Q. How can the candidate opt for the paper copy of the score report?

A. The candidates can opt for the paper copy of their score report at the time of registration by following these steps, Log in to your TOEFL account; Go to the ‘Select Scorecard Preference’ tab; Make sure to check the box for a paper copy of the score report and Save the changes you have done.

Q. What if I entered the wrong details during registration?

A. Once the details are saved on the official website for at the time of registration, candidates cannot make any changes. They need to contact the TOEFL officials via email at or by phone at 16097717100/ 18778633546 to get the needful done.

Q. Why choose TOEFL over other exams?

A. There are 3 major tests for the English language that are accepted by universities worldwide TOEFL, IELTS AND PTE. Which exam you should take depends upon your requirements and its acceptance in the university or country of your choice.Always check with your institution to know which of the english language test is needed.

Q. How many times can I attempt the TOEFL Exam?

A. The TOEFL test can be attempted as many times as the candidate wants, but to take a re-test the candidate has to wait for a 12-day period after attempting the first test.

Q. What documents do candidates need to carry to the exam centre on the day of the exam in Nigeria?

A. At the exam, candidates are required to carry their TOEFL Registration Slip or their TOEFL Admit Card. They will also be required to carry their photo ID as proof (a valid international passport) and every other document the student might deem necessary at the examination venue.

A. Both the TOEFL and IELTS are English language tests for students wanting to study abroad. However, both these tests have their own benefits and drawbacks. Both tests are accepted for college admissions, however, students are advised to check with their university admission guidelines before applying for the exam.

Q. What is the eligibility criteria for TOEFL 2020?

A. According to the ETS, the conducting body of TOEFL, as it is an English language proficiency test, so, there will not be any specific eligibility criteria for giving the TOEFL exam. Anyone who wishes to work or study abroad can give this exam in order to prove his/her English language proficiency for getting admissions in the universities or organizations based in English speaking countries. Apart from this, there is also no set age limit for giving the TOEFL exam, generally, those who have completed their high school or equivalent can give this exam.

Q. What is the difference between the TOEFL iBT and TOEFL paper-delivered tests?

  • The TOEFL iBT test is delivered via the internet and is administered online at testing sites across the globe. It monitors reading, writing, speaking and listening skills of the candidates and is offered more than 50 times a year.
  • The TOEFL PBT test was a paper-and-pencil test, which has been discontinued now used to analyze the reading, writing, grammar and listening skills of the candidates. It was offered in areas where testing through the internet was not possible. it is not available in Nigeria.
  • The revised TOEFL paper-delivered Test, which replaced the TOEFL PBT test analyses the writing, reading, and listening skills of the candidates. The speaking skills cannot be measured because of the limitations of capturing the spoken responses.

Q. What is the fee refund policy for this exam?

A. At Edugrade Services, canceling the registration before the 4-days advance deadline then only half of the test fee will be repaid. Refunds are proccessed within the period of 6 months and cash refunds are also not available.

A. Registration for the TOEFL exam closes 7 days prior to the test date. The candidate has to pay a late fee of US $40 if they fail to register before this deadline. Late registration is closed 4 days prior to the test date.

Q. Can I retake the TOEFL test? How many times can I give the TOEFL exam?

A. Yes, the aspirants can retake the TOEFL test as many times as they wish, however, one cannot take it more than once in a 12-day period. If the candidate has already registered for the exam, then he/she cannot register again for the test within12 days of their existing appointment.

  • In case the violation is identified after registration, the test appointment of the candidate will be canceled.
  • If the violation is identified after the test, then the score of the candidate will be canceled and the test fee will also be not refunded.

Q. What is the difference between TOEFL and IELTS? Which exam should you take?

A. Both the exams are designed to measure the English language proficiency of a person in four skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking. These two exams are accepted widely by universities and organizations to certify the English proficiency of a person. IELTS exam is used for educational and occupational purposes. IELTS exam uses British English and is favored by the United Kingdom and institutions in Commonwealth nations like Australia and New Zealand.

Whereas the TOEFL test measures the ability to communicate in English in academic or classroom-based settings. The TOEFL exam uses American English and is favored more in American institutions. In the TOEFL exam, there are mostly multiple-choice questions, on the other hand in the IELTS exam one has to answer the different types of questions like gap-filling, short answer, and short essay tasks. Apart from this, the duration of the IELTS exam is 2 hours and 40 minutes, whereas the TOEFL exam is four hours long.
