Since, 16th April 2018, the Graduate Management Admission Council has shortened the GMAT exam by 30 minutes. Now, the exam is of 3 hours and 30 minutes including test instructions and breaks. The Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative sections were shortened by 13 and 10 minutes respectively. The Integrated Reasoning and Analytical Writing Assessment along with the Score Preview and the optional break time remained the same. These changes do not have any impact on scoring in the shortened Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative sections as only the unscored items have been removed by the GMAC. GMAT has a feature that provides candidates with the flexibility to customize their GMAT experience by choosing the section order in which they feel most comfortable taking the exam.
It is the most widely accepted exam for MBA admissions worldwide. No other exam has as wide acceptability as GMAT, as per the GMAC, globally 9 out of 10 MBA enrollments are made through GMAT Score. Further, 2,300 + schools accept GMAT Scores for giving admission. Also, there are 650 testing centers in 114 countries that administer the GMAT Exam.
As such, there is no set eligibility criteria set by GMAT, the body conducting GMAT for appearing for the GMAT exam. However, one should always meet the eligibility criteria set by the university/college one aspires to get into after giving the GMAT.
The application fee for the GMAT exam is ₦100,000. Also, if the applicants want to change the center or reschedule the test then they will be charged $60 extra.

There are no fixed official GMAT dates, you can choose any date according to your convenience and availability. In case you need to retake the GMAT exam you can do so after 16 days. You can take or retake the GMAT exam after every 16 days. You can appear for the exam a maximum of five times a year. Ideally, candidates are recommended to register themselves two to three months before the exam date. If you register online or by phone, you can get yourself registered as late as 24 hours before the exam date. But it is safer to stick to early registration as you will then have a set schedule to prepare for the exam accordingly.

GMAT is a three and a half hours test with a maximum score of 800 points. The GMAT test the candidate's abilities on various parameters. Further, the GMAT exam has four sections:
Candidates should understand their GMAT Scores and GMAT Score Report. Candidates should also understand various aspects of the GMAT Scores.
The candidates receive almost the entire GMAT Score Report just after finishing the GMAT test except for the AWA Score. The candidate will have the option of accepting it or rejecting it. In the case of accepting the result, the candidate and the institutes of choice can view the result; but if the candidate declines the result none of the parties will be able to view the result of GMAT. Once the exam is over, candidates can download the non-official GMAT result. Finally, the candidates receive the complete GMAT Score Report within 20 days of giving the test including the AWA Score.
Each of your five GMAT Scores i.e. 4 GMAT sections and the total score is reported on a fixed scale. These are your official scores that appear on your GMAT Score Report. Your selected score recipients will receive these scores. Always remember, that the GMAT Total Score Report includes Verbal and Quantitative scores and does not include any other section into account.

Candidates should note that GMAT scores are valid for a period of 5 years. Hence, candidates should check the application deadlines of various universities and schedule their GMAT exam accordingly.

Scholarships and grants are generally given by B-schools to pursue a professional program like MBA. Moreover, scholarships can be need-based or merit-based, however, there are no set rules for awarding a scholarship. It depends on each school's admission process, so, the candidate should always check with the school itself for gaining a scholarship. Also, there are two kinds of scholarships, full and partial. The full scholarship covers the entire cost of the program, whereas a partial one covers only the part of the course fee.
A. Common facts about the GMAT Exam are:
A. The GMAT is the standardized test for getting admission to a business school whereas GRE is required for getting into a graduate school. Now, even certain business schools have also started accepting GRE as well. Similar to GRE, the GMAT exam comprises of a Verbal and Quantitative section. In GMAT, the two sections are combined to give a composite score of 800.
A. GMAT or otherwise known as the Graduate Management Admission Test and Common Admission Test or commonly referred to as CAT are the two most widely accepted management entrance tests, scores of which are accepted by all the top B-schools, including the IIMs. The basic difference, between the two, is that while CAT is a national level entrance exam for students looking for admission to Top Business Schools in India, GMAT is held at a global platform and helps students for admission to top B-Schools worldwide. Conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council, GMAT scores are acceptable mainly in the case of NRI/Foreign students who want to study in India. The IIMs accept the GMAT score of domestic candidates for executive management programmes.
A. GMAT is a computer-adaptive test, it adapts to the performance of the candidate while he is giving the test. The difficulty level of the questions changes based on whether the candidate is answering the questions right or wrong. If the candidate is answering the questions right, the level of the questions will rise, similarly, if the candidate is answering the questions wrong, the candidate will start getting easy questions.
Also, as the next question is generated based on the performance in the current question, the candidate cannot visit the previous question. The candidate needs to answer a question whether he is able to solve it or not in order to move ahead.
A. The GMAT score includes percentile that compares your performance with other test-takers. If you score in the 80th percentile, then you performed better than 80 percent of the aspirants. Scoring high percentile means you performed better than most of the candidates appeared for the exam. Similarly, scoring low percentile signifies that you scored lower than most of the candidates.
A. Rescheduling of the GMAT exam can be done through two major modes: online and via phone. This can be done before 7 days of the exam by paying $60 fee. Also, if you wish to reschedule your exam within the 7 days of the exam date, then you would be charged $250. Please note that the exam cannot be rescheduled on the test date. The only difference in rescheduling the exam is through the phone is that you would need to pay $10 surcharge along with the $60 rescheduling fee.
Retaking the GMAT exam can be done after 16 days from your previous attempt. However, the maximum limit of attempting the exam is 5 times a year. This rolling 12-month period is counted from your first attempt irrespective of the time of year.
A. GMAT scores can be sent in two ways to B-schools. While registering for the GMAT exam, candidates have the option of sending the score report to five programs for free. Also, if candidates are not decided yet and need more time to send their scores, they can always request sending an additional score report by paying $28. Many a time, students send their score reports after receiving the score confirmation.
A. Always check with the school before going to request an old score report, a majority of the schools do not accept the scores of the exam taken over 5 years ago. Score reports from exam given within 5 to 10 years ago are available for free, however, they are sent to schools with a caveat that should be interpreted with caution. Also, score before 5 years can only be ordered by reaching out to GMAT Customer Service of your concerned region.
Q. What set of skills are tested through the GMAT exam?
A. The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) assesses the writing, quantitative, analytical, verbal and reading skills in written English. The test is designed to measure the ability of the candidate to reason all these skills. The test is designed to judge the critical thinking, analysis and problem-solving skills of the candidates apart from monitoring the ability to solve complex judgments. The aspirant should know the basic Maths and English-language to solve these queries.
Q. Will Business -schools see my previous GMAT scores?
A. Yes, they will look at the scores of the exams which you have given in the last five years. Your score report will enlist scores from each GMAT exam you have taken over the most recent five years.
Q. Are all questions in the GMAT scored?
A. Not all the GMAT questions are scored. 10-25% questions which you see in the Quantitative and Verbal sections are experimental questions. These are designed by GMAC for future tests. The performance of the experiment's questions is assessed against the questions which are scored and this information can be administered to candidates in the future.
Q. Who can access my GMAT score?
A. GMAT scores can only be accessed by the candidate that registered for the exam. Score Reports comprising of a digital photograph of the candidate and copies of essays and can only be accessed if at all requested by the candidate while taking the test or while requesting for Additional Score Reports (ASR).
Q. Which documents I need to carry to the test center?
A. The candidate must carry a valid international passport with a recent photograph and appointment confirmation letter which you got while registering for the exam.
Q. How the GMAT score is calculated?
A. The GMAT score is calculated using Qualitative and Verbal sections and scores range from 200 to 800. Moreover, if the candidate has not finished the exam in the allotted time then, his/her score is calculated based on the number of questions answered. The score of the candidate will impact significantly if the candidate has not attempted the answers.
Apart from this, the Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) Score is based on the assessment of the Argument essay and it ranges from 0 to 6 in half-point intervals. Also, the Integrated Reasoning Score range from 1 to 8.
Q. How much does it cost to take the GMAT in Nigeria?
A. GMAT exam costs ₦100,000. Also, if the candidate wants to cancel or reschedule the exam then they will be charged for it. The cancellation fee for the GMAT exam is US $80, whereas, for rescheduling, the candidate has to pay an additional fee of US $250.
